Watercress

You will find 14 single sites and 3 double sites, each with table, lantern post, and fire ring. Drinking water and vault toilets are centrally located. (Flush toilets available Spring, Summer, and Fall.)
Picnicking: Watercress Picnic Area; 9 sites 2 pavilions - Sycamore and Old Hickory -- both have electricity. Reserve either for $25 per day. Call 573-325-4233
Barrier-free restrooms
Boating/canoeing: paved ramps, wooden dock.
Hiking: Songbird Trail. 1.2-mile loop leads to Watercress Spring, passes remains of Civil War earthworks overlooking Current River.
Swimming is a popular summertime activity. No lifeguard on duty.

 Directions

Take Hwy 60 to Van Buren, MO; turn on Watercress Road to the National Park Service office. Follow the paved road 1/3 mile down to the campground, on the east bank of Current River.
