Red Bluff

Located along Huzzah Creek, Red Bluff Recreation Area gets its name from the towering Bluff across the creek. The reddish color is imparted by iron compounds in the massive rock structure that are being oxidized by exposure to air and moisture. Although the exposed rock is quite old, the picturesque valley and hills have been carved out by the Huzzah Creek during the past 100,000 years, a mere moment in geologic time.
