National World War I Museum

The horrors of World War II have lead to museums throughout the country, but this is the first and only American museum dedicated to World War I. Its collection of World War I artifacts is only second to the Imperial War Museum in Britain, but this is a beautiful museum as well as a comprehensive one. Walk a glass-floored bridge across a field of poppies, walk through a shell crater, and walk through the trenches.
