Tourist destinations to consider near Columbia are listed below. Click on any name for complete information.

Jefferson City Population: 40,000
Jefferson City has many historically and architecturally significant buildings, homes and churches. The domed capitol building rises above the Missouri River on a bluff. The renaissance revival style Governor’s Mansion is also open for tours throughout the year.

Lake of the Ozarks
Central location and fun atmosphere make the Lake of the Ozarks Missouri’s premiere vacation and conference destination. The 54,000-acre lake has room for recreational boating, houseboating, and water sports, and the 1,150-mile shoreline is curvy with enough inlets and coves to provide quiet space for fishing and sightseeing cruises.

Missouri River
The Missouri River, the nation’s longest river, flows 553 miles through Missouri and meets the Mississippi River in St. Louis. The river played an important role in Native American culture, the Lewis and Clark expedition and westward expansion.
